Objectives

With the Corporate Reverse Drugs Bidding (SICM 2015) Ecuador accomplishes the following strategic goals:

a) To articulate the health sector procurement to increase the effectiveness in their procurement processes and timely supply to health centers.
b) To increase cost savings for Ecuador.
c) To boost the effectiveness and transparency of the National Public Procurement System.

Specifically:

• Reduction of the cost of the acquisition of drugs due to the purchase in large quantities.
• It reduces the variability of prices in the purchase of drugs with similar characteristics.
• Reduction of the administrative burden, operating cost and time for the procurement of drugs and medical devices by using a single purchase procedure.
• Encourages the participation of national and international suppliers to compete on equal terms
